Machine train alignment
Alignment of rotors and machine trains is often a hard job even for a skilled specialist. The standard alignment methods with use of needle indicators, gauges, rulers, etc. require extreme attention, lots of calculations and graphic constructions. As a result much time is devoted to determination of misalignment values and correction movements even for one coupling. To ease the alignment job we offer a new electromechanical alignment system BALTECH SA-4300. This is the inexpensive, simple and easy to use device which uses one of two alignment methods- rim and face or reverse indicator method. The BALTECH SA -4300 alignment system allows to perform the alignment of horizontal machines, vertical machines and machines with intermediate shafts, it compensates for dynamic movements and shaft floating of oil wedge. The system makes it possible to perform the alignment of machine trains with up to 32 machines (31 couplings).
A machine train is a set-up of three or more rotating machines that are connected to each other (for example an electric motor is connected with a gearbox, and the gearbox is connected with a pump or compressor). The machine train alignment is a difficult job because you need first to determine a misalignment value for each coupling and then properly select a machine to be moved so that to ensure the machine train alignment. BALTECH SA-4300 is the alignment system for alignment of horizontal shafts, vertical shafts and machine trains with up to 32 machines (31 coupling).
For alignment of sheaves and chain wheels we recommend to use the BALTECH system for alignment of sheave and flatness check with a function of belt tension control. If you already use any alignment system of other manufacture, we recommend using also the tool kit BALTECH SA-PRO and calibration steel shims BALTECH-23458N Series.
The alignment of the machine trains with combined transmission types is a common task in petrochemical, power , metallurgical, papermaking and engineering industry. The proper shaft alignment always provides a considerable economic benefit. The machine train misalignment leads to premature bearing failure and oil degradation. We recommend to perform the oil analysis with the system BALTECH OA. The proper machine alignment allows saving 15-25 % of energy resources which in its turn positively influences the financial condition of a department, shop and a whole enterprise.
