Coupling heating

Coupling is a machine part that connects the shafts and serves for transmission of a torque moment without changing its direction and value; it prevents the parts from overloads, compensates the shaft misalignment and reduces the dynamic loads. The couplings vary in design parameters, control principle and application. As the coupling performs such critical functions it is subject to wear and requires a timely replacement. Some couplings require interference fit. This type of the installation requires preliminary heating of the couplings. The coupling heating can be conducted using various methods: with special burners, in oil bath and using the induction heaters BALTECH HI-1630. The heating with the induction heaters is the most efficient and qualitative method of heating. The induction heaters are designed in such a way that the heating is performed without contact with the opportunity of setting and controlling time and temperature. Moreover, only a mounting surface of the part is heated while the induction heater and yokes remain cold. Use of the modern induction heaters for heating of couplings provides maintenance personnel safety as there is no smoke and acrid odor that occur when using the oil bathes and burners. Simplicity and quickness of heating the couplings, gears and other parts allows saving energy and time and thus reducing expenditures connected with technical maintenance. Depending on the customer’s requirements we can offer the most optimal model and configuration of the induction heater.
